Clear As Day
Chapter 5
I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing. I pick it up and through sleepy eyes I see Scotty’s name appear on my screen. I let a smile grow on my lips and then I answer.
“Good morning,” I say a smile on my face.
“Morning beautiful,” Scotty said the smile growing.
I let out a small laugh as I sit up and look out the window seeing Scotty looking right back at me.
“Have you been watching me?”
“Maybe..” Scotty’s voice trailed off as he let out a small laugh.
“I.. um… was wondering if you would like to go to a small party at my friend, Kyle’s house?” Scotty said as he rubbed the back of his neck.
“I would love to Scotty!”
“Great! Be ready by 5.”
“Alright bye Scotty!”
“Goodbye Ally,” he smiled at me from his window then hung up and I watched as he walked out of his room.
For most of the day I sat around my room watching TV and listening to music. At about 3 I went and jumped in the shower and quickly got ready. I slipped on a lacy white dress and my boots, my hair in curls and little make-up on my face. I heard a knock on the door and I heard my mom open it and greet Scotty. I grabbed my phone and walked down the stairs. Scotty looked right up at me as he heard my boots hit the first step and his jaw dropped a little, not taking his eyes off me. He soon cleared his throat and gave me a smile.
“You look beautiful,” he smiled as I stepped at the door.
“Thank you Scotty. You look very handsome,” I smiled as he blushed a little.
I gave my mom a hug and told her Scotty would have me back by 11.
Me and Scotty walked to his truck and like always he opened the door for me and I climbed inside. I sat back in the seat and watched him climb in and start the car. Soon we arrived at Kyle’s house and there where only a couple of cars outside.
“Is everyone already here?”
“When I say small I meant it,” he chuckled.
He made me wait as he got out and opened the door for me and taking my head as I climbed out. I gave him a smile for thanks and walked with him to the front door where he knocked.
“Heyyy Scotty boy!” a guy who answered the door yelled.
“Hey Kyle man.”
“Ya’ll come on in!”
Me and Scotty stepped through the door and soon all his friends where around us.
“Guys this is Ally,” Scotty said and then named off all his friends standing around us.
I shook some hands and gave some hugs and we all headed for the living room where we all just sat and talked. Me and Scotty sat on the couch with another girl, Taylor and her boyfriend Will. Scotty slipped his arm around me and I smiled at him. Soon we where all up in little groups just talking. I felt a hand on my arm and a small tug. When I looked over it was Colin. He motioned for me to follow him. We walked outside on the back porch and I looked at him confusion written all over my face.
“I just wanted to say that Scotty has never looked at a girl like he looks at you.” Colin said as he looked from the sky to me.
I looked at him kinda shocked.
“Nah he doesn’t look at me any different then any other girl.”
“I’m serious Ally. He has had girlfriends and crushes but I’ve never seen him look at a girl like he has looked at you tonight. I’ve known him my whole life trust me,” Colin smiled then.
I was trying to take it all in so I just shook my head and gave him a small smile and walked back inside. Soon the party was ending and I gave almost everyone a hug and me and Scotty walked out. Scotty opened my door and then he climbed in.
“So what was Colin telling you outside?” he asked as we where on our way home.
“Oh nothing,” I said as I looked at him and gave him a smirk.
“Oh come on tell me,” he begged.
“I can’t,” I laughed a little and smiled.
He just chuckled and shook his head. Soon we pulled into his driveway and we walked to my front porch.
“Thank you for inviting me Scotty. I really had a good time,” I smiled as I looked at him.
“Thank you for coming, I had a good time and all my friends love you.”
I smiled at this and just like the night before and I kissed him on the cheek.
“Goodnight Scotty,” I smiled.
“Goodnight Ally,” He smiled back and blushed a little.
“I’ll text you tomorrow,” He smiled and then walked off my porch and I watched him till he was inside and then I walked into my house.
My mom was sitting on the couch reading and she looked up at me closing her book.
“How was the party honey?”
“It was fun. All his friends are great.” I smiled.
“Good. Well goodnight,” my mom smiled and kissed me on top of the head and then walked to her room.
I walked up to my room and removed my makeup and changed into my pj’s and sat down on my bed. Scotty’s room was dark but flickering lights playing on his body that laid in bed. I thought back to what Colin had said and then thought back to all the times Scotty had looked at me. Maybe Colin was right and maybe Scotty did look at me differently. I watched as Scotty turned the TV off and then looked out the window and smiled to me and mouthed “Goodnight”. I mouthed the same thing back and smiled and then turned my light off and soon feel fast asleep.
